"LITTLE SAINT NICK" (cover)
My favorite non-religious Christmas song was written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love of The Beach Boys. Bearing many similarities to their earlier 1963 hit "Little Deuce Coupe", it was recorded in a hurry to make it to record stores in time for Christmas that year.
Since then, it's been recorded by everyone from Captain & Tennille to the Muppets to 1910 Fruitgum Company. Wanting to get in on the action one Christmas, I decided to do my own homage to the Beach Boys' holiday hit, sticking closely to the original, even right down to the hasty recording.

"CHRISTMAS WISH" (cover)
NRBQ is a band that's been around since the 60s and has a cult following. They've been called a cross between The Beatles and The Three Stooges for their melodic music and sense of humor. Band members have come and gone in various incarnations but my favorite lineup was together in 1969 when they recorded the album "Christmas Wish".
My rendition of the title song is fairly true to the original, with some additional harmonies for good measure. I enlisted a musical buddy to sing the backup lines because he actually sounds a lot like band member Terry Adams, who sings backup on the original. I hope you like this song as much as I do.
